Museum of Northern Arizona
Log Number: MA-30-13-0454-13
The Museum of Northern Arizona (MNA) will implement environmental improvements and assess environmental requirements to address the top priority preservation needs for a portion of its zoology holdings, including the avian osteology collection, a small bird egg and nest collection, a 400-specimen comparative osteology collection, and 300,000 invertebrate collections that include both mollusks and entomology specimens. Activities will include hiring a collections associate, purchasing and installing storage equipment, assessing the contamination level of zoological study skins, conducting a contaminant workshop for area colleagues, rehousing zoology specimens, and adding a contaminated collections section to the museum’s collections management policy and procedures manual.
