Log Number: MA-30-13-0301-13

The City of Greeley Museums will partner with the High Plains Library District to create a new web-accessible archive of 8,378 historically important photographs of people, places, and events in Weld Country, Colorado, spanning 1870 to 1950. The “Weld on the Web!” project team will catalog images, store them using archival preservation materials and methods, and digitize and load them onto a library website (which will also be linked to the museum website) in a word-searchable database. This process will ensure the preservation and management of historical resources and greatly reduce the risk of damage or loss of original images. The project will give the public and other users optimal access to these resources by marrying the expertise of museum and library professionals adept at implementing digitally converted content for the public’s benefit.
