Adirondack Experience
Log Number: MA-30-13-0130-13
The Adirondack Museum will engage the Williamstown Art Conservation Center to conduct a general conservation survey and assist in creating the museum’s first long-range preservation plan. Five consulting conservators will provide discipline-specific expertise in paper, photographs, objects, textiles, and paintings. They will help prioritize short-, medium- and long-term preservation priorities and mentor museum staff to develop the skills and tools essential to updating, refining, and modifying the long-range preservation plan on an ongoing basis. This comprehensive, prioritized approach to conservation planning will provide clear direction for collection preservation into the future and serve as an in-depth planning tool for the museum to take collections care to a new level. The plan will benefit the public by assuring that collections are preserved for future exhibition, research, and education.
