Seattle Aquarium

The Seattle Aquarium will co-create public programming with established and new partner organizations to provide free drop-in educational opportunities for visitors to the Seattle city waterfront. The aquarium will hire a new waterfront engagement coordinator to lead collaborative public engagement efforts on the waterfront. To inform program content, staff will hold listening sessions and events that gather community feedback about potential topics such as climate change, environmentally regenerative practices, and Indigenous knowledge. Staff and project volunteers will receive training on program facilitation and interpretation and will implement their skills via mobile outreach carts and pop-up programs. Project beneficiaries will include community organizations and waterfront visitors of all ages, and a summative report of evaluation results will be shared with partners and colleagues.
