McLean County Historical Society

The McLean County Historical Society will build upon recommendations from a Conservation Assessment for Preservation (CAP) report by improving their collection storage and increasing the cataloged information of the objects in their art collection. Project activities will include purchasing compact storage equipment, temporary removal of objects from the art storage room, and recruiting and training interns to assist museum staff in the process of inventorying, photographing, and rehousing objects. Information collected about each object will be entered into the collection database with the goal to make more information publicly accessible through their online portal. As a result, the art collection will be preserved in a climate-controlled environment, and museum staff will be better equipped to manage and care for the collection.
