Philbrook Museum

The Philbrook Museum of Art will grow storage capacity and efficiency by converting a current library space into a modern, efficient storage room that will alleviate the urgent problem of overcrowding in the museum's permanent storage space. Project staff will assess the condition of each painting moved and flag any needing stabilization, update their collections management system with temporary location and condition, and work with third-party vendor to install 31 pull-out storage racks. As a result, this project will increase accessibility to the paintings by collections staff and greatly reduce the frequency with which works need be handled.
