Bronx Museum of the Arts

The Bronx Museum of the Arts will enhance a series of community programs designed to promote equity and social justice through the arts. Activities will focus on enhancing access through public programs, nurturing local artists through commissions and residencies, and deepening community engagement and partnerships. Guided by a revitalized community advisory council, the museum will improve existing programs, including cultural events, storytelling programs, senior programs, and virtual platforms with digitally accessible learning materials. The museum will provide free professional development seminars for emerging artists, as well as offering a residency program for artists to engage with issues expressed by local BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) communities through open studio days, talks, and workshops. Additional project results will include improved measurement instruments and evaluation reports and photo and video program documentation shared through social media and the museum's website.
