Log Number: MA-251857-OMS-22

The International Quilt Museum at the University of Nebraska will present the exhibition, “Black American Quiltmaking: Our Voice Our Story.” Organized in partnership with a guest curator, who will also author the exhibition catalog, the display will feature textile art by Black artists. Two doctoral students will serve as additional guest curators to lead a community art project for the exhibition focusing on Black experience, diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility in America. The museum will develop and implement an academic panel discussion, curricula and community activities for K–12 students, virtual programs for adults and youth, and a virtual gallery tour available on its website and through social media. The project will increase the availability of information about Black American quilts and quiltmaking for the benefit of visiting school groups, university faculty and students, community members, and online visitors.
