Log Number: MA-251831-OMS-22
The San Francisco Botanical Garden (SFBG) will engage in audience research and a community-driven planning process to produce an interpretive plan for the new Gardens of Golden Gate Park, which includes SFBG, the Conservatory of Flowers, and the Japanese Tea Garden. The project team will partner with interpretive planning consultants and a diverse group of external stakeholders. They will conduct stakeholder interviews and community workshops to capture a diversity of voices, perspectives, and cultural practices in the development of the plan. Findings from these efforts will inform the refinement of goals, key themes, and the resulting interpretive plan, which will identify programming, signage, and materials that will connect the three sites with guidance for interpretation that is unique to each location. The resulting plan will help build plant awareness and botanical literacy, while incorporating strategies to reach underrepresented audiences.
