Log Number: MA-251638-OMS-22

The Penn Museum will digitize its archival collections documenting the museum's archaeological field excavations from across the world. In order to increase accessibility and mitigate damage caused by handling, museum staff will coordinate the scanning and photography of field notes, photographs, letters, plans, drawings, ledgers, and diaries from the collection. For the project, the museum will hire an archives digitization assistant to digitize field records of archaeological excavations that have been frequently and recently requested by scholars and researchers. As a result of the project, the project team will make selected collection records publicly accessible through the museum’s website for use by curators, students, and university staff.
