University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (North Carolina Botanical Garden)
Log Number: MA-251512-OMS-22
The North Carolina Botanical Garden at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill will undertake a stakeholder-engaged interpretive master planning process to better communicate the goals of its collections and displays and forge connections with a more diverse audience. Through collaborative activities between staff, volunteers, board members, visitors, community members, an external interpretive planning firm, and external stakeholders, the garden will produce a new master plan including recommendations for interpretive practices and comprehensive wayfinding signs. As a result, the garden will gain an increased understanding of visitor knowledge, behaviors, and attitudes so it can create effective onsite and digital interpretive experiences, share its conservation mission, and reach an audience more reflective of its community.
