Ogden Museum of Southern Art

Log Number: MA-249798-OMS-21

The Ogden Museum will implement a three-part outreach program for teens and young adults ages 13 to 25 designed to increase students’ exposure to the arts, develop leadership and critical thinking skills, and allow participants to explore new career pathways. The year-long Ogden Teen Internship will offer eight interns job training and résumé-building experience as docents. Through monthly Day with an Artist programs, middle or high school classes from area public schools spend the day discussing and making art with a professional artist. Finally, the new Historically Black Colleges and Universities Internship will provide opportunities for university-level students from ethnically diverse backgrounds that are historically underrepresented in the museum field. These three programs aim to contribute to the diversification of the museum profession, with the goal of promoting inclusive, pluralistic museums.
