Shelburne Museum

The Shelburne Museum will improve informational access, storage conditions, and develop display options for two collections of historic textiles. The collections include a set of 3,007 children’s handkerchiefs dating from the mid-1700s to the present day and a collection of 184 commemorative handkerchiefs dating from the first half of the 19th century to the mid-20th century. The museum will facilitate easier access to its collections, enhance preservation capabilities, add more than 3,000 records to its system, and complete two much-needed collections assessments. In addition, the museum will create a prioritized list of artifacts needing conservation treatment.
