National Steinbeck Center

Log Number: MA-21-17-0153-17

The National Steinbeck Center will implement a community engagement project to optimize the use of its resources to serve the surrounding region. Museum staff, board members, and volunteers will participate in training programs designed to help organizations strengthen their evaluation plans and learn methodologies for improving services and ensuring accountability to constituents. Two formal community forums will be led by the museum to garner ideas for ways the museum can best engage the various ethnic groups in its community, enhance the visitor experience, and offer a variety of programs and partnership opportunities that benefit the region. Following the forums, board members and staff will participate in a facilitated retreat to discuss the community input, set goals, and develop a timeline for implementing ideas. Project findings will be shared with the community through the museum's newsletter, website, social media, and other communication channels.
