Log Number: MA-21-14-0108-14

The Portland Museum will implement "Young Curators: Pathways to Art," a community-driven project that brings at-risk youth into the museum to work closely with artists, curators, historians, and architects to curate two exhibitions: "New Artists in Portland" and "Interpretive Schemes for the Earick House." Materials created in the project will be posted on the museum's website and the public will be invited to visit the exhibits. The project will allow youth to create work that can be used in portfolios needed for entry in a new magnet school program. The program will also encourage self-esteem development, increase learning and appreciation of art, heritage, and community through exposure to high quality and nurturing experiences.
