Institute of Contemporary Art, Boston

Log Number: MA-10-14-0235-14

The Institute of Contemporary Art (ICA) will teach, mentor, and engage 4,000 high-need Boston-area teens through after- and out-of-school programs, providing safe spaces for teens and supporting artistic growth, social, and emotional well-being, and leadership skills development. ICA Teen Programs—which will include drop-in Teen Nights, Teen New Media courses, a Teen Arts Council, a yearlong filmmaking program, and a National Convening for Teens in the Arts—will place teens at the center of the museum experience to build engaged and informed future leaders, artists, and audiences. In the long term, ICA aims to increase high school graduation and college enrollment, and promote civic engagement and critical thinking for underserved urban youth.
