Calvert Marine Museum

The Calvert Marine Museum will develop, fabricate, and install River to Bay: Reflections and Connections, an exhibit on the ecosystem of the Patuxent River and Chesapeake Bay. The new exhibit will encompass current scientific information and include participatory, interactive, and online components. The goal of the River to Bay exhibit is to transform visitors’ thoughts and actions to facilitate lifelong learning and environmental stewardship. The museum is partnering with local schools and community environmental groups to build stronger ties with action-based environmental organizations. The exhibit will be a portal into contemporary scientific concepts and feature activity centers that let visitors test water quality and compare results with data collected by scientists— encouraging repeat visits and action to protect the ecosystem.
