The Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive will hire a Family and School Programs Manager to support community demand for expanded educational programming for families and K-12 schoolchildren. The museum is preparing to move downtown, in proximity to local schools, recreational facilities, arts organizations, and public transportation. The museum anticipates that this increased access will greatly heighten demand for educational programming. A professional programs manager will create and run new programs tailored to various age groups, based on recent successful pilot projects for these audiences. The museum will target 60 class visits per year to the new location, with an average class size of 30 students. The museum will evaluate the new programming through audience surveys of students, teachers, families, and partnering community organizations.
