Mohonk Preserve

Mohonk Preserve will begin a two-year planning process aimed at updating and aligning the Preserve’s interpretive master plan, operational policies, and facilities plan in response to present day and future realities driven by global climate change, rising energy costs, new technologies, and shifting audience needs and expectations. This project is critical to launching the Mohonk Preserve on a well-aimed trajectory into its second fifty years of operations by its golden anniversary in 2013. Programs in field research, environmental education, land protection, and land stewardship round out an integrated strategy designed to ensure that this unique area remains a haven for wildlife, a living museum, and a sanctuary for people in nature.
