Magic House, St. Louis Children's Museum

The Magic House, St. Louis Children’s Museum, will begin “Growing Our Own,” a two-year project to expand the museum’s youth volunteer, internship, and entry-level staff training programs. “Growing Our Own” will create a sustainable continuum of workplace learning opportunities for middle school, high school, and college students. The project will fund a human resources consultant to review and strengthen the museum’s current training programs and implement a new college internship program. “Growing Our Own” will include a youth volunteer and internship coordinator to oversee the administration of this workforce, and an evaluation consultant to measure the program’s effectiveness. The project will enable the museum to meet strategic goals of expanding its commitment to older youth and building institutional capacity to ensure that the internal organization keeps pace with the museum’s enlarged physical plant.
