Historic Spanish Point

The Gulf Coast Heritage Association will use its grant to fund technology improvements for visitor services and staff productivity. Point-of-sale software and equipment will be upgraded and interfaced into one system that will handle all visitor- and member- related financial transactions so that visitors and members are promptly and professionally served. The software will manage store inventory data and produce daily reports on sales, attendance, visitor demographics, and program registrations. The project will also include the installation of two programmable LCD monitors in the Visitors Center to provide information with colorful photographs and text so that every visitor may easily learn what is going on at Historic Spanish Point. Lastly, a computer network, connecting ten workstations in the administrative and program offices of Historic Spanish Point, will be installed to improve efficiency, speed, accuracy, and communications.
