Blithewold Mansion and Gardens

The Blithewold Mansion, Gardens, and Arboretum will use its grant to fund the development of a comprehensive master plan to build Blithewold Inc.’s institutional capacity for long-term decision-making and long-term institutional sustainability. The consultant team, working with the Master Planning Advisory Committee and staff, will create a comprehensive history of the site, assess architectural and horticultural features, consider removing staff offices from the mansion to create more interpretive spaces, explore appropriate onsite development to expand opportunities for public programming and revenue generation, and suggest options for public education and visitor amenities, increased handicapped access, information management, community relations, organizational capacity-building and fiscal health.
