Virginia Polytechnic Institute

The Virginia Tech Museum of Geosciences will begin a project to plan, organize, and digitally document an extensive collection of geologic materials including minerals, rocks, fossils, research products, and equipment. The museum will develop plans and policies for collections; discover and organize specimens located in various storage locations; develop quality, publicly available study collections; use electronic databases and Web sites to make the permanent research collection more accessible to scientists, educators, and the public; organize and enhance designated educational materials; and document and share methods and results.
