Log Number: MA-05-11-0305-11

The Smith College Museum of Art will digitize 3,860 works of art from its collection, including paintings, sculpture, drawings, prints, and photographs, which will add 5,000 new images to its existing archive of over 23,000 images. These images will be made accessible to the Smith College community via the College’s LUNA Insight image media repository, and to the general public via the museum’s searchable online catalog. The museum will also contribute these images to the ARTstor digital library, where they will be available at over 1,200 subscribing institutions. Images will be accessible to staff through ImageFolio, a digital asset management system stored on the museum’s server, and MIMSY XG collections database, housed at the University of Massachusetts and utilized by the Five-College Consortium: Amherst, Hampshire, Mount Holyoke, and Smith Colleges, along with the University of Massachusetts.
