The California Museum of Photography at the University of California, Riverside, will refine the taxonomy of subject headings used to index the Keystone-Mast Collection catalog and upgrade the museum’s Web site search tool to improve access to the collection. The Keystone-Mast Collection (1860–1940) of glass-plate stereoscopic negatives is the world’s largest assemblage of original stereoscopic negatives and prints providing an encyclopedic view of global cultural history, architectural sites, and undeveloped land. Consisting of 250,000 stereoscopic glass-plate and film negatives and 100,000 vintage prints, the collection is the surviving archive of the Keystone View Company of Meadville, PA (active from 1892–1963).
