Freeport Historical Society
Log Number: MA-05-11-0254-11
The Freeport Historical Society will produce a written collections policy to guide its collecting activities into the future. This policy will help the society better use its existing resources, establish priorities for future acquisitions and recommendations for deaccessioning. It will also outline specific strategies to implement the policy. The society owns two properties listed in the National Register: Harrington House and Pettengill Farm, a 200-year-old, 140-acre saltwater farm. Harrington House, the society’s headquarters, houses exhibits, archives, a research area, and business offices. The farmhouse at Pettengill is maintained as a study property.
