Asheville Art Museum

The Asheville Art Museum will complete the “Black Mountain College Research & Digitization Project.” This project is the second phase of the Asheville Art Museum’s Black Mountain College (BMC) Collection Project. During this phase, the museum will perform detailed research on the works in its BMC collection, create digital images of these works, and provide access to the public by uploading this information onto a virtual gallery that will be located on the museum’s Web site. Research will be performed through a series of visits to artists associated with BMC, or their heirs, and a leading scholar in BMC will assist the museum’s curatorial staff in research. A series of artist biographies and articles will be created as background for each work and how it fits into the context of BMC.
