Adkins Arboretum

Adkins Arboretum’s “Native Plant Database Project” will integrate the arboretum’s current and new collections into its expanded mission of promoting and demonstrating sustainable land management. As the arboretum undergoes a major expansion of its cultivated garden (the Native Plant Gateway) and construction of a new visitors’ center, it will offer new programs to the public, professionals, and educators. The “Native Plant Database Project” is integral to maintaining accurate collection records and to providing up-to-date botanical information to the public. This project will accession selected plants from the arboretum’s cultivated garden and update “Native Plant Database Project” software to improve user-friendliness and information layers. The project will also increase the efficiency of data collection and input into the Native Plant Database.
