Mystic Seaport Museum

The Mystic Seaport Museum will begin to digitize its Merritt, Chapman & Scott Collection of photographs. To complete the project, the museum will hire an imaging specialist. At the end of the two-year period, more than 13,000 digital images will be created, which—individually and collectively—provide a striking visual representation of the American maritime experience. The project will significantly expand the museum’s digital resources and, for the first time, provide outside scholars, researchers, teachers, students, casual Web browsers, and other users with visual access to this photographic treasure trove of the American maritime experience.
