Colorado State University (Gregory Allicar Museum of Art)

Log Number: MA-05-10-0446-10

The University Art Museum (UAM) at Colorado State University will purchase a collections management software system (Gallery System’s EmbARK) and use it to catalogue objects and facilitate access to and management of a collection of approximately 3,000 works of art. The UAM collections have three focus areas: modern and contemporary art; non-Western, especially African and Oceanic, art; and Japanese woodblock prints. These collections are particularly significant in reflecting Colorado State’s long-standing dedication to international studies and cultural understanding. A protocol for cataloging will allow new acquisitions to be entered into the system on an ongoing basis. In the final phase of the project, the museum will install EmbARK’s Web Kiosk and pilot online use of the collection for test audiences within the university.
