Log Number: MA-05-10-0174-10

The Ackland Art Museum, part of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, will begin a project to create a complete digital archive of all works held in the museum’s permanent collection. Of the approximately 16,000 works in the collection, including more than 13,000 works on paper, only 3,512 have been photographed, with approximately 3,000 archived as digital files. The museum will standardize the existing digital files and complete the digitization process. The archive will connect to three access points: The Museum System (TMS) for internal/staff uses, ARTstor for academic users (by University negotiated agreement), and www.ackland.org for external users.
