Gallatin County Historical Society (Gallatin County Pioneer Museum)

The Gallatin County Historical Society will begin the construction of a digital catalogue of the society’s photograph collection that is housed in the Pioneer Museum of Bozeman, Montana. While the entire collection is specific to Gallatin County, much of the collection relates to smaller communities in the county and growth prior to statehood. The history of these smaller communities is very important for historical research on the development of the rural west economically, culturally, and architecturally over time. Digitization of the collection is vital to provide access and preservation of these materials, creating the critical ties to the communities served by the museum.
