Sweet Briar College (Sweet Briar College Art Gallery)

Sweet Briar College Art Gallery will utilize new database software to marry the several databases currently in use. The new database will provide greater depth and variety in information fields that archive changes and will allow the attachment of digital images to object records. An up-to-date platform will then exist for the future sharing of collection images and records with a broad and varied audience through the Web. The college owns and maintains a permanent collection of approximately 2,000 art objects, which include prints, paintings, photographs, and sculptures from artists ranging from Dürer and Rembrandt to Japanese woodblock prints, to recently acquired works from contemporary female artists.
