Carbon County Museum, WY

The Carbon County Museum will use its grant to hire a collections management professional and support staff to complete a physical inventory of the museum, assign numbers to unnumbered objects, verify locations of existing numbered objects, and conduct a short condition assessment of every object in the collection. All information gathered during this process will be recorded in the museum’s collections database. This inventory is a necessary preparation of the collection for a move into a new facility and also will give the museum up-to-date physical and intellectual control over the object collection in order to produce more cohesive exhibits, educational programs, and improved collection security.
