Town of Estes Park

Estes Park is a small resort community at the gateway to Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado’s largest tourist attraction. The Estes Park Museum will begin a project to digitize its entire photograph collection. A technician will be hired to convert the approximately 4,200 photographs to a digital format. Digitizing the collection will reduce handling and cataloging while also making database searches more efficient. As a result, the photographs will be readily available to staff and the public. The digital access to the collection will benefit outside researchers and enhance the museum’s own exhibits, programs, and publications.
