Amon Carter Museum of American Art

Log Number: MA-05-10-0019-10

To better fulfill the Amon Carter Museum mission, and as part of its ongoing strategic plan, the Carter has committed to its “Access to American Photography” initiative. A large percentage of the Carter’s photographic holdings (45,000 exhibition-quality prints) will be cataloged, digitized, and represented in an internal collections database (KEMu) and on the museum’s Web site. This grant will allow the museum to complete the cataloging of 12,000 photographs that have already been digitized, and then accession, catalogue, and digitize another 11,000 priority photographs. The Amon Carter Museum holds works by early nineteenth-century artist-explorers, mid-twentieth-century modernists, and contemporary photographers.
