Hancock Shaker Village, Inc.

Hancock Shaker Village will implement an extensive Web site enhancement with the aim of transforming it into a national Shaker history portal. The Web site will incorporate new interpretive elements, including recently created audio material, video material (oral histories, current video, historic video), historic and contemporary photographs, a Shaker “genealogy,” access to collections, a live “Village Cam” to provide information about ongoing building restoration activity, links to other institutions, space for educators to access curriculum material, blog and posting opportunities, and other interactive elements. The Web site enhancements will expand curriculum materials and teaching tools for educators and help users of all types understand the connection between Shaker history themes, American history, and contemporary life.
