Log Number: MA-04-11-0358-11
The University of Oregon’s Museum of Natural and Cultural History will design, prototype, evaluate, and install five key components of a new natural history exhibit hall. The components will include 1) Plate Tectonics: Volcanoes and Earthquakes; 2) Ice Age! Glaciers, Floods, Megafauna, and Extinctions; 3) Think Like a Scientist: Fossils from the Field to the Museum; 4) Evolution of the Horse: From Ancient Times to Today; and 5) Stewardship: Salmon, Humans, and Northwest Rivers. The project will allow the museum to expand and diversify its educational exhibits, showcase more of the university’s collections and research, and build partnerships with a variety of communities to increase scientific literacy; link the past, present, and future; and foster a sense of stewardship for natural history.
