The Children's Museum at La Habra

The Children’s Museum will implement “Young At Art,” a standards-based arts education program for third-, fourth-, and fifth-grade students and their teachers that includes visual art, music, and drama activities in classrooms and at the museum. The project aims to improve the quality of elementary education at the local level and impact educational practice in the La Habra City school district. By practicing, observing, thinking, and talking about music, theater/performing arts, and visual arts, this project will increase language arts and math skills and cognitive abilities in third- to fifth-grade students. Through professional development training, curriculum development, educational resources, and standards-based arts materials, teachers will help students develop language arts and mathematics readiness skills and make it possible for them to become lifelong learners through the arts.
