Mexic Arte Museum

The “Screen It!” project will prepare underserved Austin 4th- through 12th-grade students for careers in the art field by developing skills in computer literacy and creative design. The project will familiarize students with the industrial design process and the commercial applications of art. Students will learn from a graphic designer how to illustrate and manipulate images in a computer laboratory and how digital images can be replicated and transferred using screen printing. The students will then use this knowledge to transfer their own digital designs onto screens and then onto t-shirts and other related products. Project participation will introduce students to entrepreneurship and assist with career development.
