Conner Prairie, working in conjunction with science programmers from the Science Museum of Minnesota, will develop and implement “Test Lab: Indiana Inventions,” a 500-square-foot exhibit where three hands-on science experiences will be sequentially installed. The museum will assess visitors’ response to the exhibit and evaluate learning outcomes in preparation for a larger exhibit to open in 2014. “Test Lab: Indiana Inventions,” focusing on the themes of energy, innovation and invention; life sciences; and environment and nature; will place visitors in the role of a scientific investigator. The goal of this exhibit is to enhance the creativity, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills of museum visitors as well as to evaluate the effectiveness of each prototype.
