City of Lakewood

The City of Lakewood Regional Parks Division will initiate interpretive planning for the Bear Creek Lake Park Visitor Center to help develop year-round, audience-specific programs and a new nature exhibit. Project team members will work with an expert to formalize the vision, interpretive themes, and goals for the center; analyze target audience groups; evaluate programs, exhibits, and indoor/outdoor educational facilities; and research emerging trends and best practices in interpretation and evaluation. When complete, the interpretive plan will play a significant role in strengthening the capacity of the center to develop audience awareness and appreciation of Lakewood’s natural resources, thereby enhancing the conservation of these areas.
