Chinati Foundation

The Chinati Foundation will enhance and strengthen its existing “Children’s Art Classes” and “Public Programming” initiatives by adding two new components for kindergarten-aged children and high school students. Staff will develop a formal class plan that meets Marfa public schools’ curriculum goals. The foundation will also continue to develop a set of policies and procedures, resulting in a formal guidebook for “Children’s Art Classes.” Art class participation will be expanded and reach a broader audience of Marfa children and their parents, a formalized set of curriculum guides will be developed along with formalized evaluations for art classes and public programming, and staff will become better informed about the community and be better able to respond to its needs.
