Ball State University (Charles W. Brown Planetarium)

The Ball State University Planetarium will use grant funds to support the purchase of a GOTO Chronos Hybrid star projector. The projector will allow for the study of sharp and realistic sky simulations and star images for students, visitors, and faculty. Complemented by an integrated full-dome video projection system and automated by computer control, the projector is designed to accurately portray the night sky for up to 10,000 years into the future or past. After installation and testing, the projector will be used in educational programs, which will include sky simulations featuring star images, a coral reef with fish, the temples of Ancient Egypt 4000 years ago, or an animated trip through the human body.
