The Alabama Space Science Exhibit Commission’s museum, the U.S. Space & Rocket Center, will develop, Carrying Out the Mission,” an exhibit on astronaut training. The center houses one of the world’s largest collections of space artifacts and, in a recent survey, over 61% of visitors indicated that they would like to learn more about the training and requirements of an astronaut. “Carrying Out the Mission,” is one part of a 12-module exhibit plan that will cultivate an appreciation of human space exploration through the use of historical artifacts, hands-on interactive stations, two problem-solving computer simulators, and oral histories.
