New England Aquarium

The New England Aquarium’s Classroom Coastal Connections (CCC) program is part of an initiative to increase the educational value of school visits to the aquarium and to improve understanding and appreciation of the world’s oceans. CCC will bring students, free of charge, to the New England Aquarium and to local coastal habitat areas. Aquarium staff will work with teachers in grades three through five in five partner schools in the City of Boston to offer professional development, visit classrooms, lead curriculum-related activities before and after aquarium visits, help teachers design field trips to coastal sites, and join these trips to facilitate place-based learning. In addition, an orientation video and curriculum activities will be developed and posted on the Internet so all interested teachers can access them.
