Log Number: MA-04-10-0357-10

The Ontario County Historical Society will develop and install an exhibition, titled “Greed and Other Choices: The Story of Western New York 1650–1850,” that will offer perspective into the early history of lands that now comprise western New York State. It will build on themes developed at a humanities scholar focus group in 2009. The long-term exhibit will include media stations and interactive elements and will be flexible enough to incorporate new artifacts and themes in order to keep the information fresh to ensure ongoing community engagement. Partnering agencies, The Wood Library and Ganondagan State Historic Site, will assist in the development of learning elements. Programming will include a distance-learning element, community book reads, Native American cultural events, and a Web-based interactive activity.
