EcoTarium

The Worcester Natural History Society will use its grant to fund the initial research and planning necessary to develop an urban-themed exhibition for the EcoTarium. This is one of four exhibition areas utilizing a “New England destinations” organizing theme described in an Exhibit Master Plan developed through a former IMLS grant. The urban exhibition will occupy one half of the museum’s middle floor and will focus on the urban environment of Worcester, Massachusetts, presenting the city as a complex ecosystem. The exhibition will use familiar themes as a springboard to explore a variety of sciences and is expected to appeal to a broad audience, and to particularly resonate with and build the society’s urban audience.
