The Walker Art Center will continue to sustain and grow its Teen Programs, which have steadily increased teen attendance since their inception in 1996. The Walker Art Center Teen Arts Council (WACTAC), a group of ten to twelve young people (ages fourteen to nineteen) that meets weekly during the school year, places teens at the center of program development and engagement. WACTAC will organize and present two artist talks, two Student Open Houses, four teen-art showcases, and four getaway programs and events. The Walker will also bring an artist-in-residence to work directly with teens and will waive gallery admission for teens during the afternoon. To share its continued successes with these programs, the Walker will hold a three-day Teen Arts Educator Summit to disseminate the findings of a recent alumni survey.
