Detroit Institute of Arts

The Detroit Institute of Arts (DIA) will use its grant to fund the final step in its permanent collection reinstallation assessment. The summative evaluation will provide a thorough study of visitors’ use of and response to the DIA’s new interpretive approach to gallery installation. The assessment will help monitor if the DIA is achieving its mission to help each visitor find personal meaning in art and serve the community in meaningful ways. The evaluation plan will answer questions such as, How engaged are visitors with the works of art and interpretation? and What personal meanings do they develop? The results will inform modifications of the current installations and planning of all future endeavors.
